Title: Peak Power Reduction for Multicarrier Systems
Abstract:

The request of the users in terms of rate, coverage and quality of service in wireless communication is growing exponentially, with increasing demand for electrical energy, to ensure networks link. In this context, new waveforms based on multicarrier modulation become widely popular and used intensively in recent radio communication architectures. Their properties in term of dynamic spectrum adjustment make OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) and derivatives modulation a promising technology for Cognitive Radio systems. However, these signals are sensitive to the power amplifier nonlinearities because of their high PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio). In literature, many PAPR reduction schemes have been developed and implemented in recent communication standard. The result is significant reduction of energy consumption in base station.

In this presentation, I will present recent results and challenges for the field of PAPR reduction for RF systems. I focused the presentation on recent evolution of methods based on optimization process like Tone Reservation and Coding Techniques.
